St Andrews by-the-Sea is located at the tip of the peninsula that separates the estuary from the St Croix River and the actual Passamaquoddy Bay. This charming little resort has in its time been home to several personalities, including William van Horne, general manager of the Canadian Pacific Railway from 1888 to 1899. Today, the town's Water Street is pleasantly lively and elegant hundred-year-old houses line its peaceful avenues.
