Moundville Archaeological Park

Recommended
The Moundville Archaeological Park was once home to the largest Native American settlement in the southeast during the Mississippian Period (AD 800-1500). Today, more than two dozen flat-topped earthen mounds remain, built as platforms for temples, council houses and homes of tribal leaders.
