Wells Fargo History Museum

Tucked between the towers of Wells Fargo Center-trapezoidal twin towers of brown granite and tinted glass (1983, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill)-the museum traces the Wells Fargo Company's role in California's history, from its founding in San Francisco in 1852 as a banking and express shipping company to its current position as one of the state's foremost financial institutions. Displays feature an original Concord stagecoach and the Challenge Nugget, a lump of gold weighing 26.4 troy ounces, found in 1975 near the town of Challenge, California.
