Denver Art Museum

Highly recommended
This thin, twin-towered building (Gio Ponti, 1971) is a modern fortress looming over Civic Center Plaza. A wing designed by Daniel Libeskind was added to the building in 2006. The highlight of the museum, the Native American Collection, comprises around 17 000 exhibits. An exhibition of Asian art includes Hindu sculptures, Islamic textiles and Japanese scrolls. The European and American art is organised by theme, with landscapes displayed in one room and portraits in another.
