Yale Collection of Musical Instruments

Established in 1900, this rare collection assembles more than 1000 fine and decorative musical instruments documenting the European music tradition from 1550 to 1900. Here you'll find violins by Jakob Stainer (1661) and Stradivari (1736) and an outstanding array of keyboard instruments dating back to 1569.
