A natural tunnel of swamp mahogany trees leads drivers down Maluhia Road into the 1835 plantation village of Koloa and on to Poipu Beach on the south coast. A public park adjoins a string of resort hotels. Down the shoreline to the west is a natural feature called Spouting Horn. Ocean waves push through the remains of an ancient lava tube and a spout of water shoot forward.
