Navy Pier

Interesting
Navy Pier has enjoyed many incarnations since it was first built in 1916 as a passenger and freight terminal. Then it served as a naval training station during the Second World War and as a campus for the University of Illinois. Many of Chicago's tourist boats come and go from here, and the attractions and events (big wheel, McCormick Place Convention Center, Skyline Stage, shops, restaurants) draw the crowds.
