Chicago Botanic Garden

With 26 garden areas, more than 2.5 million individual plants of 9 000 different varieties and a host of bird life, the 155ha Chicago Botanic Garden is a botanic paradise. The heart of the garden occupies the largest of nine islands in a 24ha artificial lagoon. Highlights include the formal Rose Garden, Sensory Garden and Japanese Garden, and for kids, the Model Railroad Garden. To get an overall view, don't hesitate to hop onto the tram to continue the rest of your visit.
