South Street Seaport Museum

Interesting
The South Street Seaport Museum presents its collection of "scrimshaws", delicate carvings on whale teeth. It also includes a substantial holding of model ships and a plethora of memorabilia from the golden age of transatlantic voyages. An integral part of the museum, the Street of Ships, is home to a number of old vessels docked along Piers 15 and 16, the most spectacular of which is the 1911 four-masted "Peking".
