Deepwood Museum and Gardens
Since its completion in 1894, the ornate, immaculately maintained Queen Anne mansion has drawn envious looks, with its multi-gabled roofline and decorative details. The warm interior features golden oak woodwork and stained-glass windows. In the 1930s a pair of women architects from Salem, Lord and Schryver (who went on to achieve national fame) designed a formal English garden to complement the house. Visitors may stroll the brick-lined walks, past spreading oaks and fragrant magnolias, accented by sundials and birdbaths.
