Inspired by the Château d'Asnières near Paris, architect Horace Trumbauer designed this dignified country estate (1901) for coal "king" Edward J. Berwind. Decorator Jules Allard designed each room around a single work of art. Decked out in the French Classical style, the entrance hall and dining room are hung with monumental 18C Venetian paintings. Take time to stroll around the 12 acres of lovely landscaped grounds.
