Milwaukee Art Museum

Recommended
This block-like concrete structure (1957, Eero Saarinen) on Lake Michigan was enhanced in 2001 by the striking steel and glass Quadracci Pavilion designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava and via which you enter the museum. Its very extensive collections exhibit art from Ancient Egypt up to the present day. Highlights include: 19C and 20C German art, American decorative arts and Haitian art. On the top floor, the Bradley Collection of Modern Art offers superb views over the lake.
